The Inventables X-Carve is an easy to set up and operate GRBL supported CNC milling machine with a maximum milling area of 750mm x 750mm x 65mm with a tolerance of only 0.075mm. In combination with a DeWalt milling spindle, with which the speed can be set between 16,000 rpm and 27,000 rpm, the X-Carve enables the processing of wood, plastics and soft metals such as aluminum.
What's new in V2 Version?
- Improved cutting speed, removal rate and reliability thanks to new 9mm belts and 3 new 212 oz-in NEMA 23 stepper motors providing up to 50% more torque
- The Z-axis also got an upgrade, driven directly by another 212 oz-in stepper motor, this almost doubles the millable volume of the X-Carve. The direct-drive configuration eliminates the drive belt and improves accuracy and reliability, which reduces additional adjustments and maintenance.
- The rack spacing was increased from 2.5" to 4.5" and the width of the passing sheet metal from 34 ,75" extended to 37". Thanks to this unique shape, the dust cover is not disturbed by the machine and, while in the X/Y position, keeps the chips in the machine's working area.

As a result of the integrated automatic leveling function, a very well adjusted X-Carve CNC milling machine achieves tolerances of up to 0.075mm. The user is supported in the process by the software, which means that handling is also possible without any problems for the untrained.
In addition, the powerful DeWalt spindle enables the processing of different materials with a maximum size of 750 x 750 x 65mm. The list of materials to be processed includes: wood, aluminium, various plastics such as PP, PC, ABS, PA6 and much more. as well as leather and PCB's/printed circuit boards. As a result, the X-Carve is already enjoying many enthusiastic customers from a wide variety of industries.
The inventory is controlled by the so-called X-Controller, which is based on GRBL firmware and, in combination with the very user-friendly Easel CAM software, completes the system. Easel was also developed by the developers of the X-Carve and is therefore perfectly matched to the CNC milling machine. In addition, no previous knowledge of the subtractive production method is required. The graphical interface guides the user through all the parameters to be configured and suggests recommended values.
Finally, the large variety of materials is a point that makes the X-Carve so popular might. In addition to the usual soft materials such as various types of wood and plastic, metals such as copper, aluminum and brass can also be processed with very high precision. In addition to the right milling cutter, attention must also be paid to the appropriate feeds and traversing speeds, but this should not pose a problem for the experienced user.
